October 16, 2007 :: A Brief Transmission From Planet BurnedOut

Where have I been? I've been around. Have I worked on the house? A little; not much. There are lots of reasons, but the main one is that I burned myself out. With the unrealistic goals I had for myself this summer (Gut and rebuild the office in 2 weeks? WTF?), I just can't stand to even look at a table saw or a hammer. This is getting me in trouble with the wife, of course, since she wants the outside all done and painted before winter. Have I mentioned that we're both terrified of heights?

So, I have 2 days off each week - Monday and Tuesday. One of those days we usually go for a medium-length bike ride (15-20 miles). The other day I am a slave to the house. Since my last update I've ripped siding off of the back of the house, replaced the window in Jordan's bedroom, put some trim around the windows on the back of the house, and....erm...... I think that's about it. Sian has scraped, primed, and painted the back side of the addition, and painted the 3 walls we actually have in our bedroom.

Right now my focus is on getting as much riding in as I can before it gets too cold, counting calories, and getting my bike set up as perfectly as I can get it. I suppose that finding and eliminating as many gaps/cracks in the house as possible is a job I should focus on too. Have I mentioned that I'm REALLY not motivated?

Wow, guys, if it weren't for Mags posts on VJ I'd be worried about you having been eaten alive by the house. hehehehe. Good to see you still have projects going on!
