Work on the house? Nope. It's been too damn hot and I've been too damn cranky. See, I quit smoking 3 weeks ago. Since then, my every waking moment has been spent trying to not think about cigarettes, trying to not scream at Sian or Jordan for stupid reasons, and trying not to behead anyone who pisses me off.
There has been a little work done; I replaced both windows in the master bedroom that face the street. There's still one to go. I also made window trim for one of the office windows and straightened up the bookcase over the window.
Otherwise, my energies have been directed toward finding a job (which I did), getting some bikes put together, and getting my fat ass outside on those bikes (or selling them, depending on which bike we're discussing) and getting some miles in. I got my old Schwinn cyclocross bike out of storage and cleaned it up. It's on eBay at the moment - Larry's 'cross bike
I also drug out my KHS Team mountain bike. It's cleaned up, put back together, and sitting at the bike shop with a $500 price tag on it. Oh yeah, the bike shop. I work at The Bike Wave again. Basically, I begged Jeff to give me my job back. Now I'm doing something I enjoy. It's much better than working at something I hate, even if it doesn't pay that great. The Bike Wave Here's one of my tasks at Bike Wave: Indy Bike Store
I also - finally - built up my road bike. I've had the frame for 7 years. I can't ride drop bars, so I built it as a flat-bar road bike. It's fast. I'm not. ;)
Here's the Marin:
I've also dusted off my Rocky Mountain and have been riding it. Sian was riding my Specialized yesterday and decided to experiement with flesh on gravel. The gravel won. So, I brought home a "comfort" bike from the shop last night. Maybe it will be a little better, as my Special Ed (as we call Specialized) is a little big for her. She's nursing her wounds, but insists she'll be ready to ride with me again tomorrow.
Anyhoo, that's about it. I've been riding, working, and sweating profusely since the new AC can't keep up with the 99° temperatures we've been having. It might help if there were insulation or even walls in the upstairs hallway....

Glad to see you're back. I got on a bike for the first time in about 9 years and just about killed myself. Ask me to walk 10+ miles and I'll do it no problem ask me to ride 2 miles on a bike and I can't do it. Granted the bike was all wrong for me (it was borrowed) but it was a real slap in the face not being able to go any further. My two aunts (both over 70 years old) biked a total of 7 miles each.
I'll be buying a new "old lady" style Schwinn in about two weeks!
