  April 2, 2007 :: Lots of Photos

Things are a bit rushed today, but I want to get these pictures online before they're out-dated. So, you'll have no witty commentary from me today, I'm afraid... just lots of pictures.

The rush, by the way, is the need to drive to Indianapolis today for a biometrics appointment (fingerprinting & photos) for Sian and Jordan's AOS (Adjustment of Status) application.

So, here are the most recent pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Sian has been busy...

Dwarf Alberta Spruce

Apple tree

ditto.

Boxwood.

Forsythia, Norway Spruce, etc.

Chunky on the porch.

Bleeding Hearts

Ditto.

Arborvitae that almost died off last year. I cut off the dead stuff, and it's growing new stuff this year.

Such a lovely view, isn't it? Still need to build a porch/deck/step as you can see. That's the furnace vent pipe sticking out by the door.

Porch-eye view of the Forsythia.

The back yard (what little there is of it) with lilies and Irises starting to appear.

"Ground Violets" (as they're called here) and Thyme. Looks like a strawberry in there too.

Nope, it still hasn't been finished yet.

Where the path will one day be.

A Burning Bush that had to be moved. It's doing better now than it did the past 2 years.

Red Maple.

Barberry.

Apple Tree, Holly, warehouse, etc. lol.

Blue thing that magically appeared this year.

Close-up of Holly.

The second Arborvitae that had to be pruned drastically. It also has new growth on it now.

Yes, this part of the house is still yellowish-beige... Not for long, though.

Part of a wall and one window all trimmed out...

Front of the house circa yesterday evening.

Fresh paint makes such a difference....

Sian asks you to please ignore the bits at the top that she couldn't reach....

I got started on this yesterday. Then it started raining briefly. Then the battery in my nail gun died. I gave up and started scraping paint off of the front windows.

Laundry room (and cheap router table).

Other side of that part of the laundry room.

This is the part of the laundry room on the other side of the door. Didn't get very far on it...

The ceiling - or rather, what there is of it.

The purple "thingy" flower looks like a Hyacinth. Love the bird houses on the porch. Looking good!!!

Really great guys! ...I have to agree as far as color...I like the gray anyway! It looks like *such* a hugely horrifyingly enormous job.. LOL...but will be so well worth it when you're done I'm sure. Fantastic so far... M.

I love the outside color. It's looking great! I love the plants too, it will be a very nice garden once you get around to it.

Personal Preference. I can't stand drywall/sheetrock. Wood, in my opinion, looks so much better. Plus, considering the age of my house, wood would have been the original wall sheathing material. The laundry room, which was once a "real" room of the addition house before it was moved, had plank walls.

I like walls that feel "solid" and that you can put a nail in and it will hold a picture. lol Wood costs a lot more, but I plan on living here a long, long time so it's worth it to me.

I like pictures!!!!!

I love all of the greenery! I have bad luck with plants/trees etc so I tend to put off planting anything. It looks as though your garden is going to look fantastic in full bloom.

The front porch is gorgeous and the paint colors couldn't be more perfect, they really look great.

I have a question. I have noticed you are not using sheetrock (I have bare lathe walls myself). Is this a personal preference or is there some other reason? It looks very good, I was just wondering.
