  March 25, 2007 :: Rainy Days & Mondays...

Since it is now Spring in Indiana, it hasn't stopped raining in days. Most of the work I need to do on the house depends on working outside to some degree. To finish the master bedroom, I need to replace 3 windows. Replacing 3 windows while it's raining doesn't seem fun to me. Ergo, work hasn't progressed much. It DID stop raining briefly yesterday, so Sian and I ran outside and started working on the outside of the laundry room.

First, though, I'll show ya what I did while it dumped 4 inches of rain...

This isn't the project. I'm showing this one because I don't have a "before" picture of the one I actually worked on. It looked a lot like this though...incredibly dark stain, scratches, gouges, etc.

THIS is the one I've refinished.

and here it is before I put on the clear coat.

I tackled a few smaller projects, too.

I built shelves in the doorway into the storage room. Still need the beadboard back, but they're being used to hold tools and stuff right now.

And I cleaned and organized the storage room...somewhat.

Seems like I'm forgetting something....
Oh yeah. We did some more work on the outside of the house yesterday.

Yup, it's wood. We bought 16 foot long cedar clapboards from the local lumber yard. The finishing of them left a bit to be desired, so a lot of them had to be sanded. Some I only sanded a little bit, hence the grain patterns you can see in a few of them.

What sort of siding is that? Looks like wood from here...
