March 6, 2007 :: A Random Update
Once again I'm doing a drive-by update. Work on the house has been rather infrequent - spastic even - here lately. I can't really think of an engaging, fascinating narrative to post here, so I'll just post some pictures with captions. Oh, and an amusing video for your viewing pleasure.
During my last update, I mentioned that we were about to get some snow. We did. A lot of snow. And ice...
Here was the view through one of the bedroom windows the morning after the ice/snow storm.
Here's the view out one of the other windows. My Volvo ain't movin' for a while.
It decided to snow some more a few days later.
Ok, snow pictures out of the way for now... Here's a couple of pics of the bedroom as it is (sorta) now.
The headboard isn't crooked....that's the slope of the floor.
Our lovely ceiling fan. The ceiling is entirely painted now. I'll have to post pics of that next time.
Since we are easily distracted, we started playing in the kitchen the past few days. First thing you'll note is that we retired the 1950 refrigerator. It's in the garage at the moment. Soon it will be at my mother's house.

I also bought a new table and chairs a while ago. It's real wood, fits the house, and was on sale at Kroger for $99.
Another picture of the same spot a day later...showing the wallpaper, or rather the lack of, behind the stove.
Sian painted the door and we put up a new curtain. These are all temporary measures, by the way... we figure it'll be 2 years before we can remodel the kitchen. This is just to make it tolerable for the next two years.
The fridge in it's new location, and a distinct lack of ugly wallpaper on the walls. We'll get around to painting it someday soon...

The ceiling, which is only partly stripped so far. My back went out after doing that much of the ceiling. Ergo, the kitchen is sorta on hold at the moment.
