This is just a short update...
I have been contacted by attorneys for the magazine "Old-House Journal". They are demanding that I close down this web site, as I am profiting from the "good name" of their client. Never mind the facts that I don't make a dime off of this site, I've made it pretty clear that this is NOT the magazine web site, and I suspect that they simply want to steal the domain name from me...
When I named this site/bought the domain, I wanted something simple. My house is old, and this site is my online journal of my restoration/renovation efforts. Hence, Old House Gazette. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about the magazine when I bought the domain name. I didn't buy it with the intention of drawing in millions of hits each day from confused people looking for the magazine site.
Anyway, I don't plan on giving up easily. Even if I DO change my domain name and the name of this site, I will NOT be getting rid of the current domain name. I will pay for it for the next 40 years, just to piss them off. This "little guy" doesn't like being pushed around.
Needless to say, I've cancelled my subscription to Old-House Journal, removed all links to their site, and will never buy ANY of their magazines ever again.

Seconding Angus a few months late, don't let the (corporate) man try to keep you down. LOVE your site and this (1/10/07) is where I am up to reading in order. Question-where the heck are you located? Indy or Cinci?
