  October 29, 2006 :: A Little More Progress

Sorry I haven't posted any updates for a week. The main reason would be....I haven't done much. I can have a couple of days of furious activity, and then there's nothing until payday rolls around again. At this rate, I'll get the master bedroom done sometime around....July.

I've been addressing different areas of the house this weekend. The time when Sian is supposed to arrive is getting closer and closer, and there's a LOT to do. People are coming by and carting off stuff that I've listed on Freecycle, I'm sending off a few things that I've sold on eBay, but there's STILL too much crap here. lol

Last weekend I hooked up the wiring to the master bedroom. It's so nice to be able to turn on the ceiling light/fan with a wall switch. Most lights in here have all had pull cords only since I was a kid. Now I just need a few more lights. Will be nice to get all of the dangly wires put safely where they belong.

Anyway, here are the pictures from this weekend's work:

I finally got the last of the drywall installed on this wall. Now I just need to build closets.

More insulation. Imagine that.

And here's the wall. Except for trim and electrical, this wall is DONE.

As a reminder, here's what that wall looked like a couple of months ago.

So, what does a geek do when he has extra bits of lumber laying around?
He builds a rack to hold his router and cable modem, of course. Tool battery chargers are on top...

Here's my server....

This is the "tool room"; where my server, router, modem, and assorted tools live. If you remember back to late last year, this is the room that was missing a wall for a day. The freezer is out of the pic to the right.
