  October 11, 2006 :: Closing Up

Not a lot to report today. It's a work day, so I spent most of the day sleeping. I woke up around 3pm, talked to Sian from 3:30 or so until 6pm, and then wandered upstairs to see what I could do without buying more supplies. I counted my remaining 2x4s and decided I could tackle the closing up of the old opening from the bedroom to the....whatever it was. LOL My Mom and her sister used it as a dressing room. It looks like it might have been a kitchen at some point, since it has a full counter and sink. It will eventually be my office and the guestroom.

So, I framed out a small wall, stuck it in there, and nailed it all down. Not a big accomplishment, really. Still, it's progress, which is good. So, here are the pics from tonight. Ignore the piles of stuff in the "office"....it's my upstairs storage room at the moment.

Here's the bare opening before I started.

And here it is with the framed in bit.

Then I added the blocking for the wainscot that will eventually be here.

Looking at the wall from inside the office.
