Continuing the saga of the floor and the wallpaper.....
For the floor, I did the only thing I could do for the moment; I cut out the boards in a 4 foot by 8 foot rectangle and replaced them with a sheet of 3/4" OSB. The subfloor is mostly in good shape. There is a little damage near the wall, but nothing bad enough for me to worry about the safety of walking on the floor. Perhaps one day I'll replace all of it. While I hate OSB, it does make the floor feel more solid. It might be a good idea for me to replace all of the flooring in the hallway with OSB; especially since I plan on putting slate tile here eventually. For now, I'm just going to cover it back up with the office carpet squares I was using. I don't care if they get destroyed; that's why they are there.
Brianna came over today, and while I was working on the floor she scraped all of the wallpaper off of the wall on the other side of the door. (I still haven't decided if that door is staying or not....) I still have to sand it and paint it, but it was a good day's work, I'm thinking. For her massive effort with the wallpaper (and it really was...), I have to make enchiladas for her. I think I should open an enchilada restaurant, considering the number of requests I get for them....
The feet in the picture are Brianna's. lol.
The OSB from the other direction. (Exciting, I know)
Here's the wall I was working on yesterday.
And here's the other part that Bri attacked today.
Ditto.
Lastly, here are some pictures of the previous project in the office in it's completed (although now dusty) state.
I like things that are done....
