The work on the once-arch, now-wall, is nearing an end. Good thing too, since I have a job now. Here are the pictures of the progress so far today. Please keep any comments about my poor carpentry skills to yourself. Thank you. :p


As you can see, my ceiling slopes quite a bit. Looks like about 3 inches over the course of the 14 or so feet of length. Good thing I plan on dropping the ceiling a little bit. (Was going to be 1", looks like it will be 0-3" now) And yes....they DID wallpaper the ceiling, and yes, it IS hideous.



Here's as close to a full-room shot as I can get.



Here's a closer picture of the end near the coat cubby. The hole will have a door on it for accessing the electrical outlet in there. I've also learned to keep ready access to the transformer for the puck lights in the bookcase. There are some in the bathroom as well, and the transformer died after 3 weeks. It's IN the wall, of course.



Here's a preview of what it will look like painted. I'll post pictures of the completed paint/stain scheme later tonight or tomorrow.
